COURSE DETAILS

Objectives:
Dr. Omar Mohammad will be delivering a lecture series focused on key clinical and philosophical aspects of pediatric dentistry. Topics will include:

  • Molar-Incisor Hypomineralization (MIH): Diagnosis, treatment planning, and restorative strategies.

  • Behaviour Management: Evidence-based and experience-based techniques for building trust and cooperation in young patients.

  • Clinical Pearls & Practice Tips: Everyday hacks and insights to improve efficiency and outcomes.

  • Why Kids Are Special: A reflection on the unique needs—physiological, emotional, and ethical needs of pediatric patients.

  • Sugar & Biochemistry: Understanding the role of sugar in caries development and how to communicate prevention effectively.

This lecture aims to bridge clinical excellence with compassion, offering both practical tools perspective for dentists and staff working with children.

Biography:
Dr. Omar Mohammad is a board-certified pediatric dentist based in Edmonton, Alberta, with nearly two decades of experience and over 4,500 surgeries performed. He specializes in compassionate, trauma-informed care for children, including those with complex needs. He completed his dental training at the University of Manitoba and his pediatric residency in 2016.

In addition to leading multiple pediatric practices and volunteering locally and internationally, Dr. Mohammad is currently running for Mayor of Edmonton. His campaign is grounded in service, community care, and a deep commitment to building a healthier, more inclusive city.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Mohammad brings energy to the stage as a professional ring announcer and charity auctioneer, using his voice to uplift communities and raise millions for important causes.
